Potty Time

Breaking News........Today 8/28 Lauren went pee-pee in her potty chair for the first time! Sorry no pictures to show. I don't really know if Lauren would appreciate those pictures later in life!

Pretend

Lauren loves playing pretend with her dolls. She fills up a cup with fake water from her kitchen and gives it to her doll to drink. She is very serious when she plays and sometimes giggles when she notices her Mommy is spying on her.

Hair-do's

Since Mommy has to wake up early to get ready for work she can only do so much to get Lauren ready in the morning. If there is a day that Lauren sleeps in , then Daddy has to do her hair for school. Unfortunately, we have a child that has to have her hair 'done' to look presentable. (Unless you like the look of bedhead in the morning?) Lauren's teachers at school are so sweet. They fix her hair so cute and I don't have to worry about Daddy doing a not-so-good job in the AM. :-)

2nd Grade Rocks!

It's an official 'Back to... Teacher Work Day Week'. My team of teachers rocked out in our matching gear! Of course, everyone laughed at us. We usually get made fun of anyways for turning in things early, etc... So why not add to the drama by wearing a "2nd Grade Teachers Rock" shirt.

This is Lauren's 2nd week back to daycare and she is adjusting beautifully. No more cries at drop off. She hugs her teacher when she arrives. What a big girl she is!

Hat Day at School

This week Lauren's class had a Hat theme. She painted a Dr. Seuss Hat, Top Hat, Party Hat and glued tissue paper on a Firefighter Hat. On Friday she was allowed to wear her favorite hat. Lauren wore a Dora hat and apparently she was the only child that kept her hat on ALL day long! When I say ALL day long, not only did she wear it all day at school but she continued to wear it until night time.

Ponytail

At school the other little girls wanted their hair in ponytails, so of course Lauren requested it too! She finally can have a cute ponytail!

Sleepy Head

It is really hard to wake Lauren up in the morning. She isn't grouchy (thank goodness)! It's even ten times harder to undress her when she wears her princess PJ's to bed. She never wants to take them off. I can't send her to school in PJ's! PS...Notice the lovely bedhead I have to deal with in the AM. :-)

Back to School

Today was Lauren's 'Back to School' day. She is starting school so Mommy can get her classroom ready for her students. Lauren had a fit when Daddy dropped her off this morning. Luckily, a little girl came over and gave her a hug and brought Lauren over to the toys. Kids are so sweet! After Daddy left, her teacher said she was happy and playing with everyone, as if she never had the summer off. She sang, danced and painted today! When I picked her up on the playground she was riding a 3-wheel bicycle. She loved it.

I know Lauren loves it there. It will be a while before she lets us drop her off without a cry for Mommy. What can I say, she's a Mommy's girl!

The End of Summer :(

Say good-bye to....... waking up late, eating breakfast for lunch, playing in the pool, shopping with friends, daytime TV and the best of all SPENDING MY WHOLE DAY WITH LAUREN!

The end of summer may be near.

It's time to part our ways for daycare and school.

But dry your eyes because we'll have every summer together from now and forever!

Thank you for spending so much time with me this summer! No one knows how to spoil me the way you do. I just love all my new movies. Can't wait for you to come back and watch them with me. Don't stay away too long! We gotta use our Disney passess soon.

New York Vacation

This was not our first trip away from Lauren, but it felt as if it was. Lauren stayed in FL with Bubbie and Aunt Jan while Mommy and Daddy spent a weekend away in New York City! We had a wonderful time at a music festival called, Rock the Bells. We also shopped and ate at delicious restaurants.

One Hot Day...

On a hot day in Florida, what do you do? Go to Sea World of course! This was Lauren's 2nd trip to Sea World. It was extremely hot out. The temperature gauge read 113 degrees! That was a sun burn waiting to happen. She enjoyed hanging out with (my former 2nd grade student) Nicholas, his baby brother Ashe and (my co-worker) Mrs. Herod. Thanks for the roller coaster ride Nick!

Lauren loves her new Ariel bathing suit. More excuses for her to ask for "pool, pool". We finally had a clear afternoon to use it. Go away rain!

Movie Night

"Mooovie" as Lauren calls it. Lauren loves movie night! Right now, her absolute favorite movie is "The Little Mermaid". She tries to be very convincing and asks us in many different ways to watch this movie. "Under the Sea, Please" or she'll just say "Mermaid?" I think it is wonderful movie, I just don't know how many times I can actually watch it.

Happy July 4th!

Sorry, didn't take any pictures that night! Too much going on. A bunch of us walked up our street towards the Red, Hot and Boom Fireworks. Lauren loved them! She also wore an adorable dress that was too big for her last year, but fit her perfectly this year. I wish I took a picture!!!!!

My First Trip to the Beach

Lauren is ready for her first trip to the beach!
Lauren was very afraid of the waves. She made Mommy and Daddy hold her by the ocean. While we stood there looking out at the sea we saw a group of dolphins not too far off from the shore. It was amazing! We didn't attempt to swim closer to them, just in case they weren't really dolphins. (Jaws?)

Lauren ended up getting a better tan than her parents.

Lauren didn't really like getting dirty. She did not want to sit in the sticky sand. If you notice she is squatting to touch the sand, not sitting.

As you can see, Lauren was exhausted from this trip. It took her less than 1 minute to fall asleep in the car. zzzzzzz.............

Hmm.... I know Mommy always uses them. Let's give it a try, by myself!

Well, I'm getting a little messy. It's just not as easy as it looks!

Ok, so I have to admit using

my hands is sooo much easier!

And, using both hands, way more fun!

Sorry Mommy, using a fork or spoon is just not my thing! yet....

Sea World

Lauren's first trip to Sea World was a blast!

With the temperature in the 90's Mommy and Daddy were so exhausted, but little Lauren kept her energy level high! In fact, she had so much energy that we had to walk out of the Elmo show because she was such a wiggle worm. Even with the ants in her pants, she seemed to enjoy most of the shows. Her absolute favorite part was seeing the Polar Bear. She also enjoyed the dolphins splashing her at dolphin cove. That of course was Mommy's favorite part!
